Ford 9000 Vnr Maps
Hi Polleke, what kind of car do you have?If you have a Mondeo III from 2001 or a Focus (with 1 1/2 Din sice) it is verry easy to fix it for yourself.Take out the old Radio, you need radio outtaking tools! Take off the cables.connect the cables to the VNR 9000 but be carefull, dont make it like the old radio is connected. The positions from the Cables are not confirm with those of the Old Radio. When you connect the cables, look that the small pins (in German Nasen (Noses)) are at the correct position. You can connect them at both sides in the slot. One side will not work!

And Maybe demage the Radio. You need an GPS antenna a low price antenne from navishops or ebay is enough. You can connect a secondary antenna but you mustnt do this.Hope I helped You.Greetings Lordol. As software does not corrupt itself, a corrupted firmware points to a defect controller or memory. This can be remedied by reflashing the firmware (this is something only Visteon would be able to do, no Ford dealers have the equipment), if you're lucky you may be able to load it from the map CD. If it has failed once, it will probably fail again. I would not take it unless it was for free.
With the issues of not getting any updates (may be on final one this year), the VNR is not an attractive unit for the coming years anyway.
